Close your eyes and enjoy the Art Artisan@ Y Loft 2018

Try a different accommodation experience by surrounding yourself with art pieces at hostel themed room!

Youth Square just launched the new project Artisan@ Y Loft 2018, invited 8 locals artists with different background to redecorate the hostel rooms in Y Loft with their unique ideas and designs. The local artists include Mr. Hammers, Kenneth Kwan, Humchuk, JasonTommy, Reni Haymond, Chan Wing Lam, Wong Sai Kit and Clementine Chan. They utilized their own skills and material, such as ball pens, doodle, concrete and Chinese paintings to decorate the guest room with Hong Kong related scene and present different sides of Hong Kong to tourists around the world. Some art pieces reflect their perceptions and sense towards the society and strike a chord with the public with art and creativity.

This project not only acts as a platform for the artists to showcase their creativity, but also provides an opportunity for them to present their works to the visitors all over the world. Guided tours will be available during exhibition period to provide deeper understanding of the works for the public.

Free Postcard

A set of eight postcards printed with artists’ art piece will be distributed to public for free at Y Platform, Youth Square, please refer to the distribution date below. Offers are subject to first-come-first-served basis while stocks last.

Artisan@Y Loft 2018

Mr. Hammers redesigned the twin room with cement fixtures.

Kenneth Kwan painted meaningful handwriting quotes and panda images on the wall in twin room.

You can find the footprints of Bluey and Pipi everywhere in the room redesigned by Clementine Chan.

Ricky Luk painted the wall with portraits of ordinary people in Hong Kong.

Reni Haymond believed that everyone has their own stories, even being eliminated by society.

Lydia painted her room with forest and interesting characters, creating a hide-and-seek scene.

JasonTommy built up a dream of Chai Wan in his room.

Wong Sai Kit transformed the room to be a series of Chinese ink paintings.
